Considered by far the most famous brand of spirits sold in the world, Absolut was born at the end of the nineteenth century in a small Swedish village, Åhus, at the hands of Lars Olsson Smith, enterprising entrepreneur and inventor of a particular method of fractional distillation, with which a spirit could be produced, without tail parts. This distillate took the name of Absolut Rent Brännvin and quickly became the best-selling vodka on the Swedish market. At the end of the Seventies, in the midst of the Cold War and the boycott of Soviet products, thanks to the intuition of a French liquor importer, it conquered the American market, becoming the famous vodka brand it still is today.

Absolutely the most famous distillate in the world, Vodka is obtained mainly from the distillation of cereals and potato starch and its name derives from the word 'water' to highlight not only its optical similarity but the very importance of water and its purity, directly proportional to the quality of the distillate itself. Juggling among the countless brands is not easy but a bottle of Skyy can already be a valid solution: daughter of the Campari giant, it is the fifth Premium in the world and its very accurate production process, which involves four distillations and three filtrations, designates it as a now cult product, even more underlined by the bottle itself, of an unmistakable cobalt blue.

Zacapa rum is a famous Guatemalan rum, of limited production, the result of a special blend of masterfully aged anejos rums. It owes its name to the area of Zacapa, a municipality in Guatemala (capital of the department of the same name) founded at the time of Spanish colonization. The company is located on the banks of the Motagua River, on the fertile volcanic soil typical of Guatemala. The southern coast of the country is the most suitable for the cultivation of sugar cane, enriched by the tropical sun that shines here all year round. For the production of Zacapa rum, pure sugar cane juice is used, called “Miel Virgen” (virgin honey) by the Guatemalans. For the fermentation process, which lasts 5 days, a yeast obtained from a proprietary strain extracted from pineapple is used; this guarantees a unique and constant taste and aroma over time. Zacapa rum ages in the city of Quetzaltenango, on the highlands of Guatemala, at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level where the so-called "altitude aging" takes place. The 15 Year Old is distilled from pure sugarcane juice, aged with the Solera System in oak barrels that have previously housed Bourbon whiskey, Sherry and Pedro Ximenez wines. It is made from a combination of rums aged up to fifteen years. It is intense and full of character, with hints of almonds, pineapple, ripe fruit and honey, on the palate it opens with pleasant sweet and spicy sensations before closing leaving the mouth clean.

The history of this Rum dates back to around 1800, when Don Juan Nieto, a liquor enthusiast, began a collection calling it "ambassador's reserve". His passion was so great that he himself decided to throw himself headlong into the world of distillery, trying to create something for himself and for others. Today the Unidas Distillery produces this now renowned rum, in an area in the state of Lara, in a small town, where 80% of all sugar cane in Venezuela is produced; the Diplomàtico is made up of a blend of 60 types of Rum, all different from each other (!!!!!!) and, due to its complexity, it is aged for 12 years. Further note of merit: the water used for distillation is pure Andean water, obtained from wells approximately 50-60 meters deep and nothing is added to the final distillate other than a very small quantity of caramel.

Legendario is the name of tradition conquered for a century in Cuba, home of rum, where excellence is indispensable and where a true "destilado and anejado" myth is Ron Legendario. It is a very pure rum obtained through an ancient method, using a particular filtering system which, starting from a double bottom in the tanks, with the use of silica sand and activated carbon, then allows the dilution of both the alcohol and the aguardiente at 55°. From the tanks with an exclusive method, they pass only by gravity to a system of small American oak barrels. Starting from a mix of fine sugar cane distillates, in turn selected by the best rum specialists; Demineralised water and macerated raisins are the ingredients that give such a genuine flavor that can satisfy the most refined palates. The resulting mixture is left to rest for 45 days. This is the secret of the Legendario and its cellars.

The “N° Ten” Gin is an unmissable expression of the Scottish Tanqueray distillery, an excellence in the world of gin. It is produced with a particular and innovative method that harks back to the ancient Anglo-Saxon traditions of gin, the importance of which is enhanced by the refined design of the bottle, created by the London agency Design Bridge: an octagonal shape in green glass with a silver-plated aluminum cap in art deco, as if it were a very precious perfumed essence.

Tanqueray's "N° Ten" Gin is born from 4 distillations of wheat with the small Tiny Ten still, dating back to the 1930s and heated by steam. The botanicals used are the traditional ones (juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice) to which fresh linden and chamomile chamomile flowers are added together with fresh whole citrus fruits. The choice to use only fresh fruit instead of the more conventional dried peels gives a very fresh and citrus character to this gin: an explosion of citrus fruits! London Dry Bombay Sapphire Gin is based on an ancient recipe from 1761 created by the distiller Thomas Dakin. The Talisker 10 Year Old Whiskey comes from the company of the same name, the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, built in 1830 and which, in its existence, has changed several owners. Following a fire that destroyed it, it was rebuilt in 1960 and modernized in 1972 and in recent years. The protection of tradition is however safe in Talisker where there are four stills (two for the first and two for the second distillation). During the first distillation, part of the alcoholic vapor returns to the still itself, to be redistilled; this special reflux operation gives the whiskey its spicy characteristic. Talisker has been available as a single malt for several years and has marked characteristics of the malt produced on the islands. Bright gold in appearance, this 10 year old enters the nose with a nice peat smoke, powerful and with a hint of seawater salinity, fresh oysters and a citrus sweetness. The body is full and on the palate it expresses a rich sweetness of dried fruits with clouds of smoke and strong aromas of barley malt, warm and intense. Peppery in the back of the mouth, it has a long, warm, peppery finish.
